CAMA has received the final approval from the Malta Financial Services Authority to act as a VFA Agent in terms of both Article 7 and Article 14 of the Virtual Financial Assets Act (Cap. 590 of the laws of Malta) and may assist VFA Issuers and VFA Service Providers, through a range of VFA Agent services:
- classification of tokens, coins and other crypto-assets under the ‘Financial Instrument Test’
- carrying out fitness and properness assessments
- drawing up and review of whitepapers
- assistance with token-sale agreements
- technical review of blueprints and cyber-security policies
- assistance with internal good governance arrangements, including KYC/AML processes, controls and procedures
- liaising with functionaries and service providers to be appointed, such as systems auditors, directors, MLROs, compliance officer and others (where applicable)
- guiding the board of directors and other functionaries in their duties and responsibilities
- corporate structuring and asset management solutions
- preparation and submission of applications for registration of a whitepaper and applications for a licence to provide VFA Services with the MFSA
- assistance with the certification of innovative technologic arrangements (ITA) with the MDIA
