 Malcolm Falzon (Designated Person and Executive Director)
 
Malcolm Falzon is a partner in Camilleri Preziosi’s Corporate & Finance practice group. His areas of specialisation comprise capital markets, corporate, M&A, corporate/asset finance, gaming, insurance, aviation, fintech and DLT, and regularly advises matters on corporate and commercial and dispute resolution issues. Malcolm leads Camilleri Preziosi’s Blockchain Taskforce, which was set up in order to study the technology and its potential application to the industry sectors serviced by the firm. He regularly acts as an examiner at the University of Malta and lecturer at the Malta Stock Exchange Institute, and is a speaker at seminars and conferences relating to his areas of expertise. He is frequently invited to speak at blockchain conferences and has appeared as a panelist at a number of blockchain events held in Malta and abroad. Following his return from postgraduate studies at University College, London, Malcolm returned to the firm as an associate in 2005, and was admitted to partnership in 2013.

Andrea Vianelli (Designated Person and Executive Director)
 
Andrea is currently serving as Director of Amagis LX, Legal Manager at Amagis Capital Management Ltd and as compliance officer of AMA UCITS SICAV p.l.c. and Amagis Capital Funds SICAV p.l.c. Andrea served as an associate in the Asset Management practice of Camilleri Preziosi in Malta and in the M&A department of a pre-eminent U.S. firm in Milan. Andrea achieved a CFA (Investment Foundation Programme) certification and completed his legal studies (J.D. and LL.M.) in London and Padova. Andrea is often invited as speaker to international events focused on legal and regulatory topics and recently on blockchain.

Simone Russo (Non-Executive Director)
 
Simone is co-founder of Amagis Capital, the CEO of the Malta office, and oversees the Amagis new products and structuring initiatives. Simone started his career at JPMorgan in 1998, and he was leading the Italian and Greek marketing and sales team since 2003. In 2006 Mr Russo joined Goldman Sachs as managing director running the Italian and Greek structured sales team and initiated the launch of GS ART (hedge fund index tracker). In 2009 Mr Russo co-founded a Luxembourg CSSF regulated fund platform.
 
Louis De Gabriele (Non-Executive Director)
 
Louis de Gabriele currently heads the Corporate and Finance practice group at Camilleri Preziosi, which includes the corporate, banking, tax, and insurance units of the firm.  His area of expertise is principally banking, corporate finance, and M&A where he has been actively involved since the beginning of his career. He has been a first mover in the development of capital markets in Malta and acts for a significant number of companies listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, leading the Camilleri Preziosi team on a number of major projects and transactions, both for local and international corporations. Louis has been involved in a number of blockchain - related projects and has appeared as a panelist at a number of blockchain focused events and seminars. Louis holds a LL.D from University of Malta and a LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  Louis was recently appointed President of the Malta Chamber of Advocates.

Diane Bugeja (Money Laundering Reporting Officer)
 
Diane practices primarily in financial services law, financial regulation and anti-money laundering regulation, providing advice to local and overseas clients on the impact of the current and forthcoming regulatory regime on their business models. Diane also advises clients on the regulatory aspects of a wide range of transactions, including licensing-related matters, capital markets initiatives and on-going liaison with regulatory authorities more broadly. Diane joined the firm as an Associate in 2016 and was promoted to Senior Associate in January 2017. She was previously a risk and regulatory consultant at a Big Four audit firm, working in Malta and in London, and subsequently joined the enforcement departments of the UK and Maltese financial services regulators. Diane obtained a PhD in Law from King’s College London in 2017 and her research focused on the mis-selling of complex investment products to commercial retail investors. Diane has authored and co-authored numerous publications and articles on various aspects of financial services regulation, including anti-money laundering, insurance, securitization, investment services and data protection. She regularly participates as a panellist and speaker at local conferences and seminars, particularly in the field of regulation and compliance. Diane also chairs the IFSP Sub-Committee on AML and Virtual Currencies. 

Antonio Giannino (Advisor – Cyber-Security and Risk)
 
Prior to joining Amagis, Antonio was a teaching assistant at Bocconi University in Milan in several Mathematics and Economics classes, including Financial Mathematics and Financial Macroeconomics. Antonio has been a PHD student in Zurich. Moreover, Antonio managed several research projects for respected and acknowledged scholars at Bocconi, coordinating other research assistants and applying cutting-edge statistical models. Antonio is a MSc Magna Cum Laude graduate in Economics and Social Sciences.

Giulio Stasi (Advisor - Blockchain and AML)
 
Giulio is Amagis Capital Management’s Money Laundering Reporting Officer, Member of the Investment Committee Company Secretary, and Director. Moreover, Giulio is also Company Secretary for AMA UCITS SICAV PLC and Amagis Capital Funds Sicav PLC. Prior to joining Amagis, Giulio was a strategic consultant at Arthur Andersen and Investment Banking Analyst at CitiGroup.

Andrew Caruana Scicluna (Legal Advisor – Investment Services and Funds)
 
Andrew forms part of Camilleri Preziosi’s corporate and finance practice group.  Andrew’s main areas of practice are asset management, investment funds and investment services regulation. He regularly advises on the incorporation and re-domiciliation of UCITS Funds and Alternative Investment Funds in Malta and also advises a number of investment funds, managers and administrators on regulatory issues and their transactional affairs. Andrew also advises a number of clients looking at setting up professional investor funds investing in virtual currencies and has appeared as panelist at a number of blockchain oriented events. Andrew holds an LL.D. from the University of Malta and an LL.M. in Banking and Financial Law from the London School of Economics.
 
Alexia Valenzia (Legal Advisor – IP, Data Privacy and TMT)
 
Alexia Valenzia is a Junior Associate at Camilleri Preziosi and forms part of the firm’s technology, media and telecoms department and the firm’s Blockchain Taskforce.  Her areas of specialisation include fintech regulation, technology, intellectual property and data protection. She has worked on DLT related matters, specifically within the field of cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings and related services. Her interests lie in the development of nascent technologies such as artificial intelligence and the internet of things, and the legal implications which arise as a result of their development.
 
Alexia frequently contributes to Camilleri Preziosi’s publications on the applicability of these technologies to various industry sectors.  She also regularly assists clients with data protection and intellectual property related matters. Alexia has passed the IFSP Exam on the VFA framework and is currently pursuing an LL.M degree in Commercial and Corporate Law with the University of London while working at the firm. 

Julian Bajada (Legal Advisor – Capital Markets and Finance)

Julian assists across the firm’s Corporate & Finance practice groups, contributing principally to the firm’s Capital Markets, Banking, Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Financial Services Regulation practices. Julian regularly advises on general commercial and corporate law and regulatory matters assisting both local and international clientele, and has been involved on a variety of deals of a cross-border nature. During the course of his studies abroad, Julian was also engaged as an intern at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, collaborating with industry stakeholders and start-ups in the Regtech and Fintech industries. Julian was admitted to the bar in 2018, having graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters of Corporate Law (MCL. Cantab) (First Class), submitting a case study paper on “Legal Risk Management in Mergers & Acquisitions”. Prior to his studies abroad, Julian successfully completed the Masters in Advocacy (M.A. Adv.) degree at the University of Malta, and the LL.B. (Hons.) degree at the same university, submitting a dissertation entitled “Pulling in the Crowd – Establishing  regulatory framework for Equity Crowdfunding in Malta?”. He is also undergoing the final stages of his studies leading to the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) professional qualification.  

Nikky Carabott (Legal Advisor – Capital Markets and Finance)
 
Since joining Camilleri Preziosi in 2016 as a trainee, Nikky has formed part of the firm’s Corporate and Finance practice group. As part of her training, she has been involved in a number of practice areas, including mergers and acquisitions, banking and capital markets. She also forms part of the firm’s Blockchain Taskforce, and has been actively involved in the VFA sector, having attended numerous educational seminars, panel discussions and conferences over the past few months. Nikky graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2017, and a Master of Advocacy degree the following year. Nikky intends to pursue a Master’s degree in corporate law in 2019 to further her development in the field.
        
Yuliia Ishchuk (Legal Advisor - Corporate and Finance)
 
Before joining Amagis Capital, Yuliia spent five years as In-house counsel of large Family offices in Ukraine and Russia. She covered the area of legal support to transactions related to real estate investments and shareholdings into local and international companies. Yuliia covered also the role of Head of the Department of international relations of the aforesaid Family Office, dealing with multiple stakeholders and financial institutions within and outside EU. Yuliia holds Master degree of International Law and Translation from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (“IIR”), and an LLM in International Economic Law from QMUL. Yuliia is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian and Italian.

​Matteo Barbaro (Finance Manager)
 
Matteo serves as Finance Manager for CAMA and is acting as valuation committee member and finance associate of Amagis Capital Management Limited.  Prior to joining Amagis as a Junior Risk Manager, Matteo has been involved in accounting and administrative work on an internship basis. Matteo graduated in Economics and Business at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
